Orange Maroc and Ericsson announced on Wednesday they have signed a partnership deal to co-develop and promote private 5G network solutions for Morocco’s enterprise sector.
The agreement, signed at GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech – calls for Ericsson to provide a complete private 5G network platform, including its radio and 5G core technologies, for Orange Maroc’s 5G Lab to create an environment for demonstration and experimentation.
Orange Maroc said the lab will serve as a structuring lever to develop a rich catalogue of B2B use cases, allowing Moroccan companies to test and validate solutions, and discover the benefits of 5G in improving productivity and optimizing operational costs.
With more Moroccan companies increasingly requiring advanced, secure, and reliable connectivity to drive their digital transformation agendas, Orange Maroc and Ericsson plan to define and structure a catalogue of solutions targeting key industrial use cases, particularly in smart logistics, utilities, energy, and smart territories.
The partnership also aims to support resilient and secure connectivity for critical infrastructures such as mining, ports, utilities, and other strategic sectors.
Orange Maroc also said the lab will strengthen the telco’s position as an integrated ICT operator that can combine connectivity with cloud, edge computing and security to offer comprehensive solutions, and pave the way for new strategic partnerships with industrial and institutional players.
